How many days in Nusa Penida?

This will be the question many will have in mind before they travel to Nusa Penida.

To visit Nusa Penida, for us, you need at least 4 days, means you need 5 days 4 nights in Nusa Penida. Here, let’s us elaborate more in details.

Nusa Penida is a big island off Bali, thus, not possible to visit the island in a day or two. You need to make decision, and here, see the map of Nusa Penida Island(map copied credit to saltinourhair.com)

  1. West Nusa Penida 1 Day Tour Visit Angel Billabong, Broken Beach, Kelingking Beach and do a 30 -45 minutes minutes snorkeling at Crystal Bay.

This is the most popular One Day Tour to Nusa Penida, which most of the tourists will visit the west coast of Nusa Penida Island due to the popularity of beutiful Angel Billabong and Broken Beach, as well as the Kelingking Point.

All places covered today Angel Billabong, Broken Beach, Kelingking Point and Crystal Bay Snorkeling Tour can be finished in 1 day with no efforts of going down from cliff and come back up. Thus, will be an easy tour for those who want to take pictures for Instagram.

NOTE: Nusa Penida is getting popular from Angel Billabong though in year 2016. Before Angle Billabong is getting a lot of Eyes Ball, Nusa Penida Island has no proper road access to Angel Billabong and West Park of the island.

2) East Nusa Penida 1 Day Tour – Visit Atuh Beach, Diamond Beach, Tree House & Pulau Seribu

East part of Nusa Penida Island is hard to access, but, the east side of the island for me (Angie) is a better adventure, and particularly I love Diamond Beach the most out of so many beaches and cliff point in Penida Island. I would like to highlight the Suwehan Beach too, as most people might not heard about it, but, it is so far the best adventure and best No Pain No Gain experience I have had.

At the same location, Atuh Beach and Diamond Beach(newly open to public in year 2018) located are opposite to each other, each of them have staircases to go down and come back up. You can visit both beaches at the same time, which mean you wont have energy left to visit other places anymore, maybe, to pay a visit to the picture-perfect Tree House(Rumah Pohon) and Seribu Pulau(Thousand islands). That will make you lose at least 1kg after the tour. It will be a hard day, but worth while. Atuh Beach offers the cleanest crystal clear water to swim in, same goes to Diamond Beach (not so suitable for swimming as having quite rough wave and a lot of rocks but it makes the beach so picturesque).

Thus, you need to come back in another day to visit Suwehan Beach, and the access to Suwehan Beach is quite rough and some area you need to go down and come back up with ropes and be ready for rock climbing.

For East Nusa Penida, you need a two day to explore them.

NOTE: The beaches mentioned all located down the cliffs, those beaches are 100% sure the most spectacular places on Nusa Penida, or in Indonesia or in the world – White sand and crystal clear water. The view from the top is incredible but be prepared if you want to hike down to the beach, be ready for 10 to 45 minute incredibly steep path and not very safe path.

3) Peguyangan Waterfall Day Tour with Banah Cliff Point

Peguyangan Waterfall is really beutiful and pretty. For us it is sexy and wonderful destination. However, it is very challenging to go down and come back up.

The hike down takes about 30 minutes, leading you down to the pilgrimage site. The sacred temple is based on the water blessing. The trek back up the stairs will be a huge effort, easily one needs at least 1 to 2 hours to get back on where the car dropped you at.

You can only visit one place in day, and, you can go to nearby Banah Cliff Point for another round of cliff top picture shooting. That is it you can do in a day in Nusa Penida.

4) Tembeling Natural Pool, Tembeling Beach + Banah Cliff Point

Tembeling Natural Pool is considered as scared natural pool, you will see locals do prayers here. To do this tour, you can only use motorbike and do a trek.

After the relaxing swim at the nice Tembeling natural pool , you can walk to Tembeling Beach on the back. It will be a relaxing day tour at Nusa Penida and quite challenging and nice as you will travel in a motorbike with a motorbike guide or you can ride it at own.
